About Rhodes


Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands with a population of approximately 110.000. It has a subtropical climate with 300 days of sunshine and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece.

Rhodes is an island which really does have everything, and probably one of the most exciting places you will ever visit. Diverse and sophisticated, full of history culture, ancient sites, stunning scenery, soft sandy beaches secluded coves and lush green forest dotted with traditional villages with welcoming inhabitants.

Rhodes town is separated into two parts the Medieval Old City which is a world heritage site, built by the Knights of St. John. It's the oldest inhabited city in Europe and a living monument to the past with its imposing building and its majestic gateways, you cannot help being touched by the atmosphere which will take you back centuries. The cobbled streets are lined with busy tourist shops selling everything from ceramics and leather goods to clothing and jewelry and when the sun goes down the Old town offers a vibrant nightlife!

The New town or Neohori is a lively town outside the castle walls, with a mixture of modern and ancient buildings,surrounded by a multitude of hotels, designer shops, trendy bars and top quality restaurants.

Mandraki harbour is a picturesque harbour and where it is said once stood 'Colossos of Rhodes one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
